LW1100 Large‑Capacity Domestic‑Built Horizontal Scroll Discharge Decanter Centrifuge: Successfully Installed, Commissioned and Put into Operation
In September 2024, a large‑scale domestic enterprise took delivery of an LW1100 horizontal scroll discharge decanter centrifuge supplied by Tianjin Promising Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Installation and commissioning work was completed in November 2024, and the unit went into official service in December 2024.
The LW1100 represents a large‑capacity domestic‑developed horizontal scroll decanter for polyvinyl chloride processing applications. Tianjin Promising completed its independent design and manufacturing back in 2009. This equipment was certified as a high‑quality domestic product by the Tianjin Science and Technology Commission. Having undergone more than ten years of field‑proven market validation, it remains a reliable option for high‑throughput production lines.
Developing such complex process equipment involved multiple technical challenges. In the early phase of this project more than ten years ago, there was limited accessible reference data for this type of large‑capacity centrifuge. The engineering team had to build up design frameworks and core technical solutions from ground zero. As prototype equipment neared completion and entered testing phases, a key technical bottleneck emerged: unstable material feeding performance. Technical staff ran multiple rounds of trials and root‑cause analysis without achieving a full resolution, and the R&D work encountered stagnation. One senior engineer on the team identified a subtle structural detail that had been overlooked. After thorough review and assessment, it was found that the original reference imported unit featured vent openings on the lower casing section, which had been omitted in the initial prototype design. During high‑speed operation, substantial airflow and heat would build up inside the machine and create negative‑pressure conditions. Those seemingly simple vent openings served to release internal airflow and heat and support stable equipment performance. Once the structural modification was implemented, the test run achieved successful operation.
Breakthroughs in R&D often come from solving subtle yet critical technical challenges. For large and complex integrated decanter systems, external visual similarity cannot guarantee equivalent operational outcomes. Real‑world performance relies on accumulated engineering know‑how to satisfy comprehensive technical indicators and long‑term stable running requirements.
Since the first LW1100 centrifuge was manufactured in 2009, Tianjin Promising Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has produced more than 20 units in total, among which 17 units are currently in active operation. The above‑mentioned end‑user now operates five such units on‑site.
As an equipment manufacturer, Tianjin Promising maintains strict product quality control while keeping technology research and refinement as core priorities. Drawing on internal technical resources and talent pools, the company keeps deepening localized development for process equipment, follows evolving industry technical trends, iterates existing product platforms, and optimizes overall equipment performance continuously.
