The Localization Transformation of the German Siebtechnik TSDT1100 Centrifuge is Running Stably and Tianjin Promising 2024 Won Another New Order
Siebtechnik is a traditional and old centrifugal equipment manufacturer abroad, and it is also one of the imported brands currently used online in China's chemical industry. In April 2019, Tianjin Promising Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. went to a large enterprise in Qinghai for technical exchanges, and the equipment used by the enterprise was the German Siebtechnik TSDT1100 centrifuge. Tianjin Promising actively provides technical support and solutions, and the two sides have a preliminary understanding.
The trust between the two sides comes step by step! In August 2021, Tianjin Promising reached the first cooperation with a large enterprise in Qinghai, and the differential for the centrifuge of this model was suddenly damaged, and the damage was almost scrapped. The connection between the differential and the host of this model is inline, so the accuracy of the host, including any abnormal conditions such as material blocking, will directly act on the differential, which has a great impact on the normal operation of the differential. In view of the problems in operation, Tianjin Promising has carried out a number of design improvements such as lubrication methods for the differential, so that the differential can be successfully transformed at one time. Later, three differential models of the Siebtechnik TSDT1100 model were overhauled for the customer, and the technical ability and professionalism of Tianjin Promising left a deep impression on the company.
Based on the three previous successful collaborations, after systematic research and repeated verification in July 2022, Tianjin Promising signed a contract with the enterprise to retrofit one Siebtechnik TSDT1100 centrifuge. The main problems with the Siebtechnik TSDT1100 centrifuge were:
1. The production capacity is not up to standard, the design capacity is 18 tons/hour, and the actual output is about 10 tons/hour;
2. Frequent flushing, serious material blockage, once the load is increased, the torque increases sharply, and the equipment cannot be operated;
3. The filter cake water enters the drying bed, which affects the stable operation of downstream equipment;
4. Frequent breakage of the feed pipe;
5. The separated PVC powder is doped with black, red and yellow powder spots, and the quality of the finished product decreases.
Cause Analysis
The technical center of Tianjin Promising conducted a comprehensive analysis of the causes of these failures. We concluded that:
- This centrifuge model has a filter screen at the output end. Due to the characteristics of PVC powder, some material adheres to the screen wall during output. The accumulated material cannot be discharged smoothly, and continuous production or attempts to increase yield cause torque to increase, disrupting dynamic balance and leading to excessive vibration that prevents normal operation. This was the key reason that why the capacity could not be increased.
- The issue of colored specks in the separated PVC powder was also due to the centrifuge's structure. The equipment conveyed the dried filter cake back to the filtration section for further dewatering and drying, causing the material to pass through two drying zones with an excessively long residence time. This altered the properties of some material, reducing finished product quality.
- To prevent material buildup and screen blockage, the customer performed a major flush every 24 hours and a minor flush every 8 hours, along with constant low-flow rinsing of the screen. This resulted in filter cake water entering the drying bed with the material, affecting downstream equipment stability.
Renovation Solution
After repeated verification and bold innovation, Tianjin Promising's technical center implemented significant structural modifications, the main renovation content include:
1. Redesigned and replaced the basket cone section, removing the filter screen part.
2. Redesigned and replaced the screw conveyor, optimizing the structure of the screw core and various parameters to ensure proper clearance between the screw and the basket, thereby solving the capacity issue.
3. Replaced the basket's guide strips with guide chutes, optimizing the force dynamics during separation for smoother material discharge, improved mechanical performance, and more stable long-term operation.
4.Redesigned the feed pipe, solving the frequent damage caused by vibration from pressurized material jetting out of the excessively long original pipe.
5. The retrofit prioritized reusing existing parts and maximizing component commonality to reduce spare parts inventory, lowering both retrofit and future maintenance costs.
Through these design improvements to the centrifuge's original structure, Tianjin Promising not only met the three major technical indicator requirements but also increased capacity from 10 tons/hour to 16 tons/hour. The unit successfully passed the customer's 168-hour run test, obtaining the final acceptance report!
In March 2024, after the retrofitted equipment had been running stably online for seven months, and despite an economic downturn leading to significant reductions in production investment, this enterprise again chose to cooperate with Tianjin Promising, placing new orders for 2 additional retrofits! The two units have already arrived at the factory and are undergoing intensive retrofit and maintenance.
The centrifuge's bowl and screw are the two most critical core components. Tianjin Promising has completely redesigned both the screw assembly and the basket cone section. These cases fully demonstrate that Tianjin Promising can not only perform localized replacement or repair of original imported parts to meet the original equipment's requirements, but also has the capability to carry out adaptive technical modifications for imported centrifuges with inherently flawed designs or incorrect model selections for the target separated material. By improving the structural design, Tianjin Promising enhances the centrifuge's performance, increases its capacity, and comprehensively resolves issues encountered by customers in practical applications.
The successful retrofit of the large German Siebtechnik centrifuge by Tianjin Promising demonstrates, on one hand, that our core technical strength rivals that of imported equipment.
